Resources

Literacy Link South Central produces resources and training materials for literacy service providers and the community at large.  Below are some of the resources that we've created.  Should you want more information about these resources, or if you have an idea about a resource that you think should be created, contact us.

Performance Management Resources

Literacy Link South Central has committed to providing performance management assistance to LBS service providers throughout the coming year. As part of the business planning process, the Learning Networks of Ontario will be spearheading provincial initiatives around this topic.  Bi-monthly performance management newsletters will be posted here for program reference.

Literacy Links to Employment Newsletters

We are excited to share our Literacy Links to Employment newsletter.  The newsletter will help us share updates about our Labour Market Partnership project, and promote both literacy and labour market opportunities to London's immigrants and the organizations that serve them.  We hope that you will find these newsletters valuable and that you will share them with others.

Gamification Resources

In 2017, the report "Using Gamification in LBS and Beyond", along with the French language translation of the report's executive summary, was released.

Through the 2014 Job Creation Partnership project, LLSC developed several resources on the concept of Gamification.

"Gamification and Technology: Motivating Learners to Overcome Fear and Play Their Way Through Learning"

Maker Modules

Through the 2014 Job Creation Partnership project, LLSC developed several modules to allow literacy learners to experiment with innovative technology in a hands-on environment.

Innov-8

LLSC's Innov-8 project teaches key literacy concepts using technically-innovative and physically challenging 94Fifty SMART basketballs. Gamification takes centre stage (or "centre court" in this case!) as learners are taken through not only basketball drills to improve their skill, but the learning and application of mathematical concepts through the calculation of angles and speeds, and tracking individual and squad stats.
