Tamara Kaattari, Executive Director

Tamara has been the Executive Director of Literacy Link South Central since 1996. Before working for Literacy Link South Central, Tamara worked for another regional literacy network in Peterborough and in a community-based literacy program. Tamara's educational credentials include:

  • Honours English Degree
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program
  • Adult Education courses
  • Program Evaluation Certification Program

Tamara has also taken editing courses through Niagara College, Simon Fraser University, Ryerson University, and the Editors' Association of Canada.

Anne Marie Curtin, Director of Community Relations

Anne Marie has worked for Literacy Link South Central since 1998. Her professional background includes work with children, youth and families in the non-profit sector. She has a BA in Sociology and has completed a Professional Certificate in Adult Education (University of Western Ontario 2007). Anne Marie is a member of the Canadian Society for Training and Development and in 2010 she achieved the Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) designation. 

Anne Marie continues to pursue professional development opportunities in the area of Clear Writing to keep aware of best practices and new research in this field. On behalf of Literacy Link South Central, Anne Marie attended the Plain Language International conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2007.

Summer Burton, Project Manager

Summer joined Literacy Link South Central in 2012. With a corporate background that includes adult education and administration, Summer brings her experience in classroom and workshop facilitation, writing, editing, coaching and mentoring to her role at LLSC. She has done extensive work in curriculum development, and her other focuses include adult and accelerated learning philosophies, gamification in education, and effective communication.

In recent years Summer has worked within both adult literacy and workforce planning organizations on webinar development & delivery and facilitating community connections. In her project management role, she has worked to support several projects for Literacy Link South Central, coordinating workplans, managing communication, and overseeing project staff. Most recently, she has taken on the role of Service Planning Coordinator for the Local Employment Planning Council (LEPC), which will run through 2018.

Bashir Adeyemo, GIS Mapping and Data Analyst

Literacy Link South Central has benefited from Bashir’s data collection and analysis skills since he joined the organization in 2015. Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), he creates and updates maps of programs and services to assist a variety of stakeholders across LLSC’s six county area. Bashir also performs demographic, overlay, proximity and trend analysis used in service planning. As part of LLSC’s partnership with the Local Employment Planning Council (LEPC), Bashir also assists in workforce planning by identifying and mapping the landscape of local businesses, employment services, job seekers, and other stakeholders.

Bashir has a background in Urban and Regional Planning, and is a graduate of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Urban Planning program from Fanshawe College.

Kate Goring, Office Support Manager

Kate joined the LLSC staff in the Winter of 2016. In her role of Office Support Manager, Kate’s attention to detail is critical as she oversees invoicing, bill payments and ensures that the LLSC office runs smoothly. She also assists with LLSC’s professional development events, and is the front line of communication with our programs, members, community partners and Board of Directors.

Kate has an Honours degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, is successfully raising three children, and moonlights as a professional interior painter.
