Just Released: New Apprenticeship Presentations!

Anne Marie Curtin • September 18, 2019

Talking about "the A word" can feel overwhelming. We can help.

Literacy Link South Central proudly announces our new "The A Word" video series. Each of the 3 videos in the series runs between 20 and 30 minutes. and would make a great lunch and learn (how's that as food for thought?) for staff.

Video topics include:

  • Building the capacity of service providers
  • What clients need to know
  • Working together to support people who are on the path to Apprenticeship
Hopefully these videos help launch Apprenticeship-based conversations at, and between, agencies and service providers who support people entering the skilled trades. Together, we can embrace Apprenticeship and no longer fear the "A" word.

Please use this link to access all 3 video presentations, along with copies of their slide decks and transcripts: https://www.llsc.on.ca/resources1#Apprenticeship

The Skills for Success are the nine skills the Canadian government has identified everyone needs to be successful in work, learning and life. Today we're continuing our look at the Skills for Success by talking about Writing . According to the Canadian government, writing is how we share information using written words, symbols, and images. For example, we use this skill to fill out forms and applications, and write emails, reports and social media posts. Learn more about writing and the other Skills for Success here , and think about the writing you do on an average day, from grocery lists to reminders to homework. If you'd like to build your reading, writing, creativity, problem solving, and other Skills for Success, Ontario's adult literacy programs offer free, individualized training that can help.
