Join us for "Learning Together"

Tamara Kaattari • January 24, 2018

Join us on March 7, 2018 for "Learning Together," a FREE event to help people learn about the educational programs available for immigrants in the London region.

If you are an Immigrant who is:

  • unsure what your next educational next step might be
  • looking for educational programs to help you achieve a specific goal
  • a past participant in adult education in London who would like to share your experience and help others

If you are an Educator of Service Provider who:

  • offers programs for immigrants in the London area
  • helps immigrants settle into and thrive within their new community

Then this event is for you!

Our goal is to help immigrants gain a clear understanding of the programs that exist to help them with their educational goals. As a community of service providers and educators, we also hope to form a deeper understanding of the challenges and best practices around education for immigrants in London. Please see this poster for full registration details, and we hope to see you on March 7, 2018!

The Skills for Success are the nine skills the Canadian government has identified everyone needs to be successful in work, learning and life. Today we're continuing our look at the Skills for Success by talking about Writing . According to the Canadian government, writing is how we share information using written words, symbols, and images. For example, we use this skill to fill out forms and applications, and write emails, reports and social media posts. Learn more about writing and the other Skills for Success here , and think about the writing you do on an average day, from grocery lists to reminders to homework. If you'd like to build your reading, writing, creativity, problem solving, and other Skills for Success, Ontario's adult literacy programs offer free, individualized training that can help.
