Skills for Success: Digital

The Skills for Success are the nine skills the Canadian government has identified everyone needs to be successful in work, learning and life. Today we're continuing our look at the Skills for Success by talking about Digital Skills.


According to the Canadian government, we use digital technology and tools to find, manage, apply, create and share information and content. For example, we use this skill to create spreadsheets, safely use social media, and securely make online purchases.


Learn more about digital and the other Skills for Success here, and think about the amazing number of digital devices you encounter on a daily basis. It's not just computers, but technology like smart phones, GPS devices, smart watches, tablets, digital scales and voice controlled virtual assistant technology (like Alexa).

According to the Canadian government, writing is how we share information using written words, symbols, and images. For example, we use this skill to fill out forms and applications, and write emails, reports and social media posts.
